How to Read Your Analysis
Understanding the engine's output is key to improving. Here’s what the numbers and symbols mean:
The Evaluation Score (+/-)
This number shows who has the advantage. A positive score (e.g., `+1.5`) means White is better by the equivalent of 1.5 pawns. A score of `0.00` is equal, and `+3.00` or more is typically a winning position.
Move Annotations (Blunder, Mistake)
We automatically flag moves based on centipawn loss. If the best move kept your score at `+0.5` but your move changed it to `-1.0`, that's a 150 centipawn loss—a clear blunder (`??`). A smaller drop is a mistake or inaccuracy.
Analysis Depth
This number in the analysis table indicates how many moves ahead the engine has calculated. A higher depth (e.g., 18+) means a more reliable evaluation, especially in complex positions.
Frequently Asked Questions
What engine does this analyzer use?
Our tool uses the world-class Stockfish chess engine, trusted by grandmasters and chess enthusiasts for its incredible accuracy and tactical strength.
How can I analyze my entire game?
The best way is to copy the PGN (Portable Game Notation) from the platform where you played (like Lichess, Chess.com, etc.) and paste it into the "Load PGN" text box on our tool.
Is my analysis private?
Yes, 100%. We do not save, store, or view your PGNs or analyzed positions. Your analysis is processed in your session and is completely private.
Can I share an interesting position with a friend?
Absolutely. Once you have the position on the board, click the "Share" button. This will copy a unique link to your clipboard that you can send to anyone.
